The Diamond Beach.

Totally started my last post from Iceland this way but what the hell, it makes sense and completes the journey.

Icebergs break from the Vatnajokull Glacier, drifting through the Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon before making their way to the Atlantic … where they are beaten, broken and shattered to bits. Survivors drift out to sea. What’s left, washes onto the black sand of the Diamond Beach to sparkle in the sunlight … which was hiding behind clouds and fog.

The calm of the shore was counterbalanced with the brutality of the ocean smashing against the ice. The photos don’t do it justice though I do love how all of them give off monochromatic vibes while actually being in color.

This was my favorite place visited while in Iceland.

I have never felt sand so soft.
